This accessibility statement applies to websites on the et-foundation.co.uk domain, run by the Education and Training Foundation (51¸£ÀûÉç). We want as many people as possible to be able to use our websites. they are compatible with assistive technologies and developed to meet the accessibility standards outlined in this statement.

51¸£ÀûÉç is committed to making our websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

Our websites are partially complaint with the standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

We formally test the accessibility of key user journeys that represent the core of content across our websites on a regular basis against .

Some parts of our websites may not work for everyone. Below are known issues that we either need to fix, cannot fix, or do not need to fix right now. Parts of our websites are not fully accessible. For example:

  • some images do not have good alternative text
  • many documents are in PDF format and are not accessible
  • some headings elements are not consistent
  • some label elements are missing
  • some form controls are missing labels or title
  • some pages have poor colour contrast

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

This section covers issues that we need to fix and are working to do so.

Contrast issues

Some pages contain text and background colours with low contrast. This can cause text to be difficult to read, especially for those with low vision, poor eyesight, or colour blindness (WCAG: 1.4.3).

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

This section covers issues that we do not need to fix right now. The law calls for these exemptions.

Portable Document Formats (PDFs) and documents

PDF documents created before September 2020 aren’t accessible to screen reader software. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role value).

Any new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
